3 quick wins. Find three repetitive tasks you do every week — emails, reports, social posts, research — and start using AI for the first draft.

Set a policy. Use the traffic light system: green (research, drafts — go ahead), amber (customer-facing — human reviews), red (legal, financial — human only). Print it. Put it on the wall.

Team awareness. Tell everyone what you're doing and why. Make it OK to experiment. Find your AI ambassadors — the curious ones — and give them latitude.

Keep a log. Note what works and what doesn't. You'll need this for phase 2.

Automate something real. Pick one process that wastes time every week — enquiry responses, meeting notes, invoice chasing — and automate it with Make or Zapier.

Build a prototype. Use Bolt.new or Gamma to build something for your business — a customer portal, a booking page, a knowledge base. It doesn't need to be production-ready. It needs to prove the point.

Train the team. Run a 30-minute session where everyone shares one thing they've used AI for. The best way to spread adoption is peer examples, not mandates.

Measure results. How many hours saved this month? What's the quality like? What would you do differently? Write it down.

Review your policy. Does the traffic light still work? Adjust based on what you've learned.

Expand use cases. Take what worked in phase 2 and apply it to another area. Marketing worked? Try operations. Admin saved time? Try sales.

Explore agents. If your automations are working, try an AI agent for a more complex task — triaging emails, qualifying leads, researching competitors. Start with supervision.

Refine governance. Update your policy based on 90 days of real experience. What needed the amber light that you thought was green? What surprised you?

Share wins. Present your results to the team or leadership. Hard numbers: hours saved, tasks automated, prototypes built. Momentum breeds momentum.

Plan the next 90. What's phase 4? Deeper automation? AI-powered products? A Hack Day with Versantus? Set the direction before the energy fades.
